Brigid's Threshold Women's Circle
Join Celtic Mythologist, Anthropologist, and Feminine Embodiment Coach, Jennifer Murphy for a nourishing two-hour gathering to welcome Imbolc, the Celtic season of new beginnings.
Beginning on Brigid’s Day, 1st February, the ancient Gaelic season of Imbolc— meaning ‘in the belly’ in Old Irish—marks a time of new beginnings. We move from the dark months of Samhain (winter) into the promise of light with the coming of spring. This two-hour-long gathering at Balbriggan Library will offer women a space to come together to honour threshold moments in our lives and fuel the spark, the flame, the light of new beginnings for 2025.
We will explore—through image, symbol and story—Brigid as a Goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann and later a beloved Christian Saint, her enduring significance in the Celtic pantheon of deities particularly for women, and why she is the perfect guide to support us through threshold moments in our lives. This experience will offer a mixture of storytelling, a creative ritual where you will create your own ‘Brigid Threshold Marker’—a personal talisman to accompany you through the season of Imbolc (February-April)—infused with gentle feminine embodiment practices and sharing in circle.
Booking is essential. Please book your place through Eventbrite or contact Balbriggan Library by email balbrigganlibrary@fingal.ie or phone 01-8704401.
