Boyle Arts Festival Children's Projects

Boyle Arts Festival Children's projects are ambitious and creative involving the community and enriching art culture, in line with the creative vision for Roscommon culture and creativity strategy 2023-2027.
School Project - Commission Martin Heron to collaborate with the local community primary schools in Boyle. This will involve Martin carrying out several workshops with 3rd class pupils. They will create art pieces that will form a 'treasure hunt' and will be displayed in the art galleries and pop up exhibition spaces in Boyle Town during BAF '24. By bringing artist to the primary schools in Boyle you are enriching and exposing a diverse pupil group to different art forms and rooting BAF in the children's and families lives.
This year, we wish to grow the project, and incorporate two new schools, that have not previously
been engaged with BAF. This will expose more creative young minds to new and unique art
practices and allow them to be immersed in the creative process. The project setting removes the barrier of participation, and invites children and their families to engage with the arts who may not ordinarily have had the opportunity or desire.
Foroige project - Commission Orla Clogher to collaborate with the young people involved with
Foroige, Boyle community hub. They will work together over a series of workshops to create a
spectacular visual art pieces(Backpack puppets) for the Launch Parade of BAF '24 on the 18th of July. This will further enhance community involvement.
