Galway County Libraries will host a series of events and workshops as part of Bealtaine 2025. These are aimed at older adults.  Below are listed the events supported by Creative Ireland. 

Music of Our Generation

Join Maeve McKenna in Oranmore Library for a very special poetry workshop on the theme of 'Music of Our Generation' where participants will discuss songs from their younger years and from that, explore how to put these memories into a brief memoir which we will then shape into a poem.   
This will be an interactive workshop where the group will be free to share and develop thoughts around their early lives.  For more info contact oranmore@galwaycoco.ie 

Knitting/Crochet Workshops

4 facilitated 2 hour sessions in Tuam Library. The artist will teach participants to knit or crochet two simple little toys – one is the friendship doll, which we will place around the town for people to find and make them smile; the other is called a worry worm - they are used to help the holder verbalize their feelings/anxieties.
