As a community-based voluntary band St. John's Brass and Reed Band, one of Limericks oldest and best known, was formed in 1865 and over the last century and a half has played an active and very prominent part of Limerick's cultural development, performing at local community, national and international level over the years.

With creative performance in collaboration with friends from the Redemptorist Centre of Music, they will bring their own sense of joy and colour into peoples lives while providing an educational insight which may trigger a desire to learn an instrument.
