AONTACHT

Curated by Dr. El Reid-Buckley, in partnership with Trans Limerick Community and Ormston House, AONTACHT is the third installment of a critical and community arts events during the week of Limerick Pride.

Following the success of The Ireland We Dream/ed Of in 2023, AONTACHT's socially-engaged, collaborative programme threads together artistic, academic and activist perspectives to shift imagination into action.

These broad and inclusive events will be delivered in-person in venues across Limerick City from July 8th to 12th inclusive. All events will be free. Each venue's accessibility descriptions will be available and will have covid-safer policies in place. Irish Sign Language Interpreter will also be offered for d/Deaf communities.

Events include a queer café hosted by rapper Denise Chaila and artist Neev Kennedy, a trans writers showcase, a queer life drawing class with award winning painter Sian Costello, short film screenings by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) selected by Queer Spectrum Film Festival founder Pradeep Mahadeshwar, and a collaborative arts dinner party that discusses the politics of sexuality in Ireland both north and south of the border.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
