Also, in collaboration will be choral director, Gregory Ward and pianist Sophie Ward featuring songs about mythical and familiar creatures, of animals small and large, will be the central theme of music and song worked on during 14 weekly sessions, and in a 3-day music and art camp during school holidays. The program will also Include original songs on the theme by Birr composer, Laura Sheils. Participating children from all primary schools in the Birr area will be invited to select, study, and create models/puppets of several local bogland creatures. There will also be an opportunity for the children to visit Birr Library for further research, as well as Killaun and Boora Bogs for inspiration. Children's concert will take place at St. Brendan's Church of Ireland, Birr on May 6th. Tickets are free but booking is essential.
