A Space for Lismore 2025

A Space for Lismore 2025: community exploration of art, nature and identity.

Lismore Castle Arts invited Irish artist Ruby Wallis to create original artworks in collaboration with the Lismore community. A Space for Lismore 2025 will encourage creativity and social inclusion through in-depth art experiences.

Ruby Wallis will initially engage with a group of International Protection Applicants resident in Lismore through a series of art workshops exploring connections between garden plants of global origin, personal identity and cultural interests. The project will use plant-based media - Anthotypes and Cyanotypes - to create eco-friendly collaborative artworks.

A Space for Lismore 2025 public exhibition takes place at St Carthage Hall, Lismore from August 30 – September 21.

Inspired by the exhibition, the project continues in Autumn 2025 with art workshops and garden visits for local families, Foróige youth groups and International Protection Applicants resident in Lismore. Artworks produced will also be publicly displayed and celebrated at Lismore Castle Arts.

A Space for Lismore 2025 with artist Ruby Wallis will provide integrated creative experiences for the community of Lismore, a key strategy of Lismore Castle Arts.
