A Simple Meal Part 2
This year A Simple Meal will explore the links between our land, our food and our culture. This year we have three phenomenal artists weaving different strands of a meal together, as we rediscover the heart and soul of a simple meal.
The workshop event is held at An Ghrian Glas Farm, where food is produced using regenerative, chemical free and no dig methods.
Max Jones of 'Up There The Last' will join us to teach lost traditions in cheese and butter making.
Anna Browne of 'Big Sky Flowers' will take on the artistry of sourdough bread and traditional soda bread and flatbreads we will cook on the fire.
Kate and Alan of 'West Country Willows' will guide us in making foraging/harvesting baskets.
The elements of the day will interweave where the participants from each workshop will have an opportunity to see what the other workshops are creating during breaks and even to share and help each other. It will culminate in an evening around the fire, sharing food made completely from the land, both made that day and harvested from the farm. Local sources for flour, oats and milk will be used.
Sharing of experiences, what it means to be of Irelands land and discussions of what food means personally and within our culture. And of course some music (so bring your instruments) and may be a bit of storytelling too.
