As the leaves start to change, so does the local event calendar. From vibrant harvest festivals to cosy neighborhood gatherings, there’s something for everyone to look forward to this season.

Cavan

Art book launch: Orwin and Sebana, October 5th in Crover House Hotel.

Donegal

MÁM from Teach Damhsa, a ground-breaking performance blending the traditional with the contemporary. Featuring Irish traditional concertina player Cormac Begley! November 8th and 9th.

Monaghan

Tradoodle, Monaghan’s signature traditional arts festival for young audiences.

Galway

Around the House and Mind the Dresser, free events in Galway Libraries for Galway’s Great Read. October 2nd to November 26th.

Mayo

Castlebar Comic Festival, perfect for comic and graphic novel lovers. On now through October 7th.

LEINSTER

Carlow

Borris Lace in Schools projects. Forging connection between young people and local traditions. On until end of November.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

dlr Yarnspinners: Storytelling Circle for Adults. Third Wednesday of each month in dlr LexIcon.

Kilkenny

Bookville Festival, October 12th-18th, featuring some of the best contemporary children’s authors & illustrators from Ireland & UK and a whole range of family-friendly events.

Longford

Still Voices Film Festival, November 15th-19th. A community focused yet international showcase of the best in short film.

Louth

Louth Science Festival, exploring the wonders of science and technology in our everyday lives. With a special focus this year on climate science and creative solutions. November 6th-23rd.

Meath

Samhain Food Festival. Gather and feast in the heritage town of Kells and celebrate 5,000 years of Irish food and culture. November 2nd-5th.

Offaly

Peatlands immersive exhibition at Birr Castle. A fascinating look at biodiversity in Ireland’s peatlands and wetlands, on through the end of October.

South Dublin

Café Visionaire performance from inclusive theatre ensemble for South Dublin adults with intellectual disabilities Doors to Elsewhere. On November 23rd at the Maldron Hotel.

Wicklow

Way With Words Literature Festival, October 10th to the 14th. Readings, workshops, conversations and activities for writers and readers of all ages with a variety of genres and approaches to writing represented.

 

MUNSTER

Clare

Music Generation Clare’s two-day Folk Festival – October 28th and 29th. Workshops available for learners!

Cork City

Slow Camera Exchange, facilitating access to a selection of analogue, user-friendly cameras. On through the end of 2023.

Cork

Samhain Lights, workshops and procession to celebrate the end of the harvest season.

Kerry

Visit the Pride in Where We Live mural in Ballydribeen, created by young people to celebrate the nature of the local area.

Limerick

Castleconnell Autumn Concert Series from Limerick Arts Office. Through to the end of November in the gorgeous surrounds of All Saints Church.

Tipperary

Dromineer & Nenagh Literary Festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a wonderful lineup of events October 5th-8th.

Waterford

The Hill @Halloween, a dramatic spectacle at Ballybricken Hill on Halloween night. Created by local artists, musicians, technicians, schools and community groups and produced by Waterford Spraoi, Every Event and Waterford City and County Council.
