The fund seeks to develop creative economies at local level. In particular asking local authorities, Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) and their partners will support projects in the digital creative industries. The funded projects will support the immersive and augmented reality sector; games development, and commercial design (including industrial design, product design, visual communications, Ui/Ux, interaction design, service design and strategic design).
Projects include
Wild Games Initiative, Galway City Council
This initiative is a partnership between Ardan, Imirt, the Galway LEO and Galway Game Jam. It will focus on supporting emerging games developers to connect and collaborate with support from professional games developers and enterprise agencies.
Atlantic Tide -Transforming the Irish Design Environment, Sligo County Council
This project will consolidate the design industry across the Atlantic Innovation Region. The project is a partnership between the Sligo County Council, the Institute of Designers in Ireland, the Western Development Commission, CREW Digital, and the Western Development Commission.
IMMERSE, Donegal County Council ,
The project will offer opportunities for certain industry sectors in Donegal to be more aware of augmented reality capabilities. The project is a partnership between the Donegal County Council Local Enterprise Office (LEO), Eirmersive, Connected Hubs, Regional Enterprise Offices, CREW Digital, Údarás na Gaeltachta and the Western Development Commission.
PURPLE XR, Cork City Council
Targeting immersive technologies, PURPLE – XR combines a process-driven training initiative with a forum for collaboration and project development that facilitates the blending and sharing of skills and resources. Cork City Council Arts Office and LEO will work in partnership with Immersive Ireland, Imirt, Munster Technological University and UCC.
North East Creative Conversations , Monaghan County Council.
This project is led by Monaghan County Council LEO in partnership with Louth County Council and Cavan County Council, Creative Spark and Dundalk Institute of Technology. North East Creative Conversations aims to strengthen and develop the Northeast Region’s capacity as a creative centre of excellence in commercial design, and enhance the potential for economic development and sustainability in the creative sector.
