Tain March
Táin March Festival 2019 – this is a multi faceted cultural project which combines history, literature, poetry, archaeology and community. It is a celebration of the great literary epic tale, the Táin Bó Cúailnge, which starts in Roscommon town on Thursday 16th of May with events in Áras an Chontae and continues in Rathcroghan & Strokestown on Friday 17th of May. It crosses Sliabh Bawn on Saturday 18th of May ending with a feast fit for the great Queen Medb before continuing on to Longford on Sunday 19th of May. The festival entails Primary School workshops for 16 schools, production of a poetry anthology and exhibition, ceremonial events at Rathcroghan mound, re-enactments, talks and performances.
