Elements of the Free Market exhibition from Venice along with the pavilion itself will form part of the exhibit. That includes architectural drawings and models, audio content in the form of contextual soundscapes and recorded stories, taxonomy books, historical and contemporary photographs, drone photography, a library and a publication in the form of a newspaper, Free Market News, which contains essays and articles from over 40 different international contributors who have written about the Irish town from the perspective of architecture, urbanism, policy, heritage and fictional writing. The work also includes strategies for reclaiming market squares for local life and trade rather than being used as surface car parks, re-using existing vacant buildings in towns to become small businesses and community hubs and identifying ways of how the hierarchy of the car over the pedestrian can be reduced, resulting in public realm that supports increased commercial and social life in towns. The local Yarnbombers in Mountmellick will exhibit alongside the Free Market project.
