Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown is a unique and culturally rich part of the country, and home to a vibrant creative community. DLR County Council has a strong track record having long invested in the area’s cultural capital, and down the years the Council has commissioned and produced an array of festivals, exhibitions, residencies, school projects and public art programmes to grow and sustain local arts development.

Our vision of Creative Ireland is that every person living in the County will have the opportunity to fully realise his or her creative potential. Participation and access are central to the vision. Connecting artists and other creators to communities is also regarded as essential to realising our Creative Ireland Programme.

Our Strategy

In order to achieve our vision for culture and creativity, we have identified six key priorities that are to be implemented over the timeframe of the Strategy. The process for identifying these Strategic Priorities has been achieved through public consultation and the alignment of objectives in existing culture-related strategies within DLR. ...

• Creative Place Making
• Empowering Creative Communities
• Creativity and Innovation
• Quality of Life and Well-Being
• Partnership and Collaboration
• Awareness Raising

Our ambition for Dún Laoghaire – Rathdown is to enable creativity in all its guises and forms to flourish and grow as an intrinsic part of life of the people, the place and the partnerships that lie at the heart of this Programme.
