A project that has merged collaboration of six artists and communities across Dublin 15 will culminate on Culture Night, Friday September 20th with a film and live performance sharing at Draíocht in Blanchardstown.
Supported by Creative Ireland’s National Creativity Fund, the project entitled Our Place, Our Stories is a window into the world and experiences of people from all walks of life across the communities of Dublin 15. The Culture Night event will feature a special screening of a film created about each project along with a new 10 minute piece developed by each of the six artists in residence.
Under the directorship of Veronica Coburn, six artist partners have been working with community groups including Mulhuddart Men’s Shed & Menitation (Shaun Dunne), Mulhuddart Boxing Academy (Megan Kennedy & Jessica Kennedy of Junk Ensemble), Daughters of Charity, Blakestown (Jody O’Neill), Foróige (Colm Keegan), Umunwanyi Olaedo (Igbo Union Women Wing) and D15 Women (FeliSpeaks), Hartstown Community College and Coláiste Pobail Setanta (Dylan Coburn Gray).
Three of the groups are made up of young people under 14 and the projects represent a variety of art forms including spoken word, theatre and dance.
