Fingal Cruinniú in the Castle, in celebration of Cruinniú na nÓg, was a day-long event held in Swords Castle on Saturday, June 15. There was Storytime, Circus Performers, Lego Workshops, Art Workshops, a Magic Show and a Puppet Show.
There was also an Animal Roadshow, providing an interactive mobile education programme showing a variety of exotic creatures in a safe and entertaining way. It was present all day and a definite hit with animal lovers.
The day also included a showcase of creativity from children in the Dublin 15 area who worked with Creativity facilitators ‘Make Create Innovate’ over six weeks in Blanchardstown Library. They displayed their creative projects on the theme of ‘Climate Change’. These included musical instruments, mini-speakers, motion motors, wearable technology and stunning LED artwork.
County Librarian Betty Boardman said: “Fingal Libraries is delighted to support Cruinniú na nÓg, which shines a light on the creativity of young people. There will be lots of wonderful activities taking place on Saturday and I would urge local people to get along and enjoy the events”.
