St. Teresa’s National School, Killoe, C. Longford are engaging in a fantastic street art project to help promote creativity and the voice of the children in their school.

The topic of street art was introduced to the children who have shown a real enthusiasm for the medium. This sparked the idea for a piece of street art on school grounds. A shipping container which is used as part of the schools astroturf facility has been chosen as a suitable canvas. This space is widely used by pupils, visiting schools and members of the public.

The children are working creatively in school workshops with a local street artist who will bring their ideas to life. It is hoped that their work and the finished piece will encourage creativity throughout the school while it will also be enjoyed by visitors to the school and its facilities.
