St. Agnes' Community Centre for Music and the Arts Social Prescribing Programme

St Agnes' Community Centre for Music and the Arts, Crumlin, Dublin 12 has spearheaded inclusive and prophylactic music and arts programmes for over 10 years. While their reach has centred around the Dublin 12 area, St. Agnes' have has also engaged at municipal and national levels through partnership with local and national organisations.

At its very core, St. Agnes' advocate for equality and inclusion for all, by breaking down barriers of access to meaningful and high quality music programmes so that they can enrich people’s lives and empower them, thus ensuring that everyone, in a truly intergenerational way, are both part of and help build their own community. 

Through this programme of Social Prescribing will undertake the following developments 

1. Supporting Older Persons, especially those living with Alzheimer’s/ Dementia through their Memory Lane Choir

2. Supporting vulnerable families in Fold and Respond housing

3. Expand community music programmes for isolated adults through the Late Starters Orchestra and Musical Society

Throughout this programme St. Agnes' will collaborate with the social prescribing professionals in Dublin South Central Partnership as well as Health Promotion and Improvement, HSE Health and Wellbeing, Dublin South, Kildare and West Wicklow, HSE Older Persons Services and local community groups.
