Get through the dark evenings with Longford Lights which is back and bigger than ever! Returning to Connolly Barrack, this year's festival is expanded to take place over three evenings from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 of February.

Experience magical colour and light with an immersive experience into a world built by artists and the local community. Centred around the theme of 'belonging', Longford Lights 2024 is made for and by the people - and we invite you to come along!

What can you expect?

  • Larger than life illuminated art installations, including a magical field of light and light trail
  • Performances by national and international artists and arts groups
  • Plenty of new surprised to keep you on your toes if you visited us last year!
Community and artistic spirit comes together for Longford Lights, with hundreds of people from the local community working alongside national and international artists.  It is both grassroots in its creation and ambitious in its vision. The building of the festival creates spaces for artistic learning within the community and among artists. It creates a buzz of activity, a new way to see Longford Town and many new opportunities for local artists.

Over 11,000 people came to see the spectacle in 2023, we cannot wait to see even more of you enjoying this year's festivities!

Longford Lights is a partnership between Longford County Council and Mide Arts Group. Funding support is provided by the Arts Council of Ireland, Creative Ireland, and Fáilte Ireland.
