Corrib Kids Coding - Creative Technology for Children in Galway Libraries
NOT FOR WEBSITE
Corrib Kids Coding will introduce children aged 8-14 to the world of creative technology using a variety of formats in half day workshops at their local library or community hub.
Children build 4-5 robots with Lego, connect them to the computer via Bluetooth and code them to carry out various tasks using lights, sounds, sensors, and motors. The children will program a microbit device to animate, send text messages, play sounds, and sense movement.
Other activities include coding a FitBit device and create a game with a character they have designed themselves. The games will also be published online so all the family can have a go at home.
These sessions are completely free and the children will leave with a new skill in a growing creative industry.
The workshops will take place in a number of libraries around Galway County in the month of May
