Galway City Council is partnering with Youth Work Ireland Galway City, Comhairle na nÓg, Music Generation Galway City, and Galway Arts Centre | Nuns Island Theatre to launch Youth Lates a pilot project running from September to December 2024, this initiative offers young people a safe and engaging space to participate in Galways vibrant night-time economy. A pilot programme designed by young people, for young people.

Youth Lates includes monthly Open Mic Nights, where young musicians, poets, and other performers can share their work in a supportive and encouraging environment. Live performances by Music Generation Galway City will highlight the achievements of young musicians involved in their programs, while talented young DJs from Galway will have the opportunity to showcase their skills.

The program will also feature special guest performances by established local artists and for those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, a Craft Café and Dungeons and Dragons sessions will provide additional opportunities for socialising.
