This project aims to normalise conversations around death and dying using creative approaches for a soft engagement approach and will be delivered over 2024-2025.

Creativity can have a real impact, helping people to process and express emotion, maintain human connection and to make sense of their experiences.  This project will explore  a range of creative approaches, to facilitate these discussions. Creatives will also be upskilled to support and develop delivery.

The creatives will form a key part of delivery as they offer a different type of language, the language of metaphor – perhaps a non-verbal language, a visual vocabulary, which is ideal for engaging those hard to reach. They will be socially engaged artists who will engage in reflective practice and with great sensitivity.

This workshop will engage a local artist - Kim Gaffney to work with older people from across Co. Cavan, Fermanagh and Tyrone to explore these topics and create an image which will be used to promote and engage this project.  Following project delivery the original artwork will be presented to a local healthcare setting.
