Marsh Fritillary Butterfly Mural

Clare County Council's Climate Action Team have partnered with Cracking Light Productions and Sufek West Murals to develop an image mural that depicts the Marsh Fritillary Butterfly at the Old Bank of Ireland building in Miltown Malbay.

The Marsh Fritillary Butterfly is the only insect listed as a protected species in Annex II as it is at high risk of extinction and is currently found at a breeding site in Miltown Malbay. The mural will demonstrate this beautiful insect of local significance and also includes local wildflowers Devils Bit Scabious and other native plants that are interdependent. It will include a QR code to allow people to find more information about the butterfly and their local nature online.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
