One of the priorities of Roscommon County Council Arts Office is to offer high quality arts experiences to people, regardless of geographical location. 

Funding will be provided to the Creative Places Ballaghaderreen Programme budget to support a public festival event: Culture Night @ The Palace

Building on the success of the music event held as past of Culture Night 2023,  this year Culture Night @ The Palace will be a an open-to-all arts festival event in the grounds of Edmondstown House, that reflects the unique cultural landscape of Ballaghaderreen. Edmondstown House is a gothic Victorian country house with accommodation and restaurant, formerly a Bishop's Palace, which has been designated as a building having outstanding architectural merit. 

In the grounds of the house there will be a purpose built music stage in a stretch tent. Over the course of the evening it will host 3 music acts. The acts will be as diverse as Ballaghaderreen. Close to the music stage there will be a number of stalls featuring traditional crafts such as basket weaving, crochet, metal work and world food. There will be demonstrations of these traditional crafts as well as opportunities to purchase from local artists.

Inside the house there will be an artist and spoken word event from a local 3-of-Arts Commission involving local artists. A unique live event which aims to showcase the collaborative work of artists from 3 different disciplines - a project which will be delivered under CP Ballaghaderreen.
