Collaborating with our counter parts in Mayo Co Co, Roscommon Co Co Culture Team, Healthy Ireland and Social Inclusion units have been awarded funding under the Creative Health and Wellbeing strand and will work together with our partners The Irish Hospice Foundation and HSE to deliver our Mayo Roscommon Care & Creativity in Context project over 2024 and 2025.

Key Actions will include:

· Capacity building and training for Mayo and Roscommon artists, facilitators and project leads in end of life and bereavement -delivered by Irish Hospice Foundation.

· Artist Residencies at Mayo Roscommon Hospice Units & Palliative Care.

· Artist Residencies with older people in their homes and in nursing homes – incorporating knowledge exchange programme with artists in Mayo Hearth Programme and Roscommon HSE Nursing Home Artist in Residence Programme.

We aim to help to support positive mental health, help to promote positive ageing, support people to manage their health and wellbeing while living with a chronic disease and assist in acute and end-of-life care

2024 will see the initial stages of the training and residencies take place, the focus in 2025 will be to continue the residencies and also to create an evaluation publication to support the dissemination of learnings and practices.
