The purpose of this project is to support the initial stages of a five-year project to pilot a creative enterprise in the Dóchas centre. The enterprise is to set-up a screen-printing studio to support the employment of 5-8 autistic individuals within a 5-year period.

The first half of this project, Dóchas will collaborate with Limerick Printmakers to deliver a series of six workshops. Where participants will learn the process of silkscreen printmaking in its entirety. Dóchas aims to employ at least four of the participants of these workshops to work in Áthas Print Studio designing and hand-printing onto apparel and paper goods by the end of 2024. Items printed in Áthas Print Studio will be sold either through the Dóchas Charity Shop, at local markets or through e-commerce. All while learning the joys of printmaking!

The second half of this project is to support the professional development of the Print Studio Co-ordinator, Lara Grufferty.
