Lios an Uisce : Water's Edge
New Performance Project by Laura Sarah Dowdall at Blackrock Park.
Laura Sarah Dowdall of Running Blind Dance will run three site specific dance community workshops during July and August and create a filmed performance.
The project will include:
- a period of research and development looking at the history of Williamstown Martello Tower and its context on the coast in Blackrock Park
- public engagement through three workshops in Blackrock Park inviting audience into the artistic process and learning about site specific practice and performance
- A filmed dance performance, capturing the character, history and nuance of the buildings’ placement, architecture, surrounding environment and seascape
Movement Workshops will take place on Saturdays July 27th, August 3rd and August 24th (Heritage Week) from 2:00 - 3:30pm in Blackrock Park inspired by the park's coastal history, landscape and the future of rising tides. Dancers and Movers of all experience and age are welcome to participate in these creative workshops exploring dance improvisation, spoken-word, writing practice, contact improvisation and site-specific performance.
