Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Anseo

Meaning “here” in Irish, Anseo explores what makes our county a unique place. It’s our take on the essence of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, borrowing from its maritime heritage, its rich cultural history and reflecting themes of biodiversity. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Anseo brings together the best in contemporary street art, with a mixture of established, up-and-coming, and local artists.

The project started in summer 2021, when a host of street artists arrived in Dún Laoghaire to turn the town’s streets into an open-air canvas. In 2023 it was expanded across the county, bringing art not just to Dún Laoghaire but also to the walls of Dundrum, Deansgrange, Sallynoggin and Sandyford. A further array of murals are being added to the collection in 2024.

As part of our 2024 Creative Ireland programme we are focusing on engaging audiences with these murals, through walking tours and the development of high quality digital resources.

Walking Tours Summer 2024: taking place every Monday at 7.00pm from 1 July to 26 August, these free walking tours are part of DLR’s Summer of Heritage Programme. These bold and brilliant walking tours of Dún Laoghaire’s Street Art scene will explore the historic events, the people and the ideas behind the artworks.
