Seeking to spark the general public’s imagination and connection to Athlone’s innate mythological history, this project seeks to revive collaborative arts and street spectacle practices in County Westmeath. 

Community art workshops will take place during June and July, with various community groups. The results of these workshops will culminate in a Street Spectacle Parade on Friday 2nd August, 2024 in Athlone town.

Creative Practitioner, Patsy Preston, will be working with specific communities, youth groups settings and schools in Athlone town on collaborative art workshops. 

The Street Spectacle Parade will take place on Friday 2nd August from 8:30pm-9:30pm in Athlone town.  The parade route will assemble at John Paul Park and meander across Church Street, to end on the Westside at Flowers by Dooley's & Dooley's Fruit and Veg Shop.
