Sligo Tidy Towns represents Sligo town in the National Supervalu Tidy Towns Competition.  In 2023 we were awarded gold medal status for the fist time in our history. We work and coordinate with over 40 Schools, residents’ associations, community groups and various departments in Sligo County Council to compile our year submission to the tidy towns competition. Our roll is to highlight our own projects and to highlight the work been carried out by so many other organisations in Sligo. 

Last year we collaborated with Creative Ireland on two projects, Music at the murals and the Mural walk. Both projects were completed successfully.  This year we have arranged for a local band to play in each park. We would also have a table display from a local biodiversity educator outlining the importance of biodiversity and sustainability for all. We would have a particular emphasis on the biodiversity of each individual park, for eg. Kevinsfort/Mitchell Curley Park, and Cleveragh Park.

The educator would also give a short talk on Biodiversity during a break in the music.  We would expect each event to last 90 mins.  This event is free.
