Home – An Arts Participation Story Exchange

What does Home mean to you?

This project invites you to take part in a series of creative art workshops, extending a welcome and sharing a sense of Home with others in the East Clare community.

Through the month of June, (dates TBC), we will begin with 3 drop-in weekly art sessions in Scariff Library, getting creative with mosaic, paint and collage. These sessions are a chance to share a cuppa while we create and meet others - be they old friends or people newly arrived in the area.

On Saturday 22nd June, there will be an all-day Story Exchange on the theme of Home.

Story Exchange is a process of sharing short stories from participants lives and includes participation through active listening. Its purpose is to create a space where we can see and acknowledge each other’s differences and commonalities and, on a human level by sharing stories, build understanding through empathy. It is a process that requires engagement and brings connection.

Please note – Whilst the weekly art sessions are on a drop-in basis (no booking necessary), booking is required to take part in the Story Exchange part of the project, as there is preparation needed by both participants and organisers in advance.

The Home project is organised by East Clare artist Nathalie El Baba, a Narrative 4 trained Story Exchange facilitator.

This project marks International Refugee Week. Suitable for adults.
