Matchbox Mountain and New Horizon will facilitate a range of animation workshops aimed at three age groups, adults, teenagers and children aged 8+ exploring a range of techniques.

Workshops will be facilitated by Padraig Fagan of Matchbox Mountain and will be coordinated by Gerry Callaghan and Leah Moloney of New Horizon, a community group that works with international protection applicants in Athlone, with resource/facility support from the Gateway Project.

Following on from the success of last years programme, this year will see animation workshops with children and teenagers exploring looping gifs, stop motion sand, silhouette animation, and hand-drawn animation. 

New Horizon have identified, via consultation, the need for social and creative events for adults seeking international protection. They have decided to build on the great success of their youth programme by hosting an introduction to animation course with adult participants.
