IMMERSE activates recommendations in the 2022 Eirmersive report  “The Irish Immersive Economy”. Phase 1 comprises three strands and addresses the key challenges prohibiting the consolidation of the industry ecosystem and to drive sustainable enterprise.  

This project is a first phase response to the recommendations to the 2022 report. 
The aim is to initiate an engagement and communications phase  (3 programme strands) to specifically address the challenges to socialising the existing and future opportunities to be yielded for all industry by harnessing XR capabilities; enhance community cohesion and an active ecosystem.  

The programme actions aims to demonstrate the value of the XR  industry to all business.  It synchs to the CreaTech region proposition from Donegal to Kerry and linked to the development of commercial AV and XR facilities including An Bealach (Roscommon), Atlantic Studios (Galway), Stand Campus Gaming Hub (Sligo), Errigal Studios (Donegal), Troy (Limerick ) as well as new XR skills development programmes e.g. MSL ETB/GRETB; UL among others. Donegal is the only county in the ROI that has an existing creative entrepreneurship strategy. 

A new strategy is under development in 2023 focusing on self-sustaining creative enterprise. IMMERSE is a collaboration between Donegal County Council , Eirmersive, Connected Hubs, Regional Enterprise Offices (MidWest/NorthWest/West), CREW, Údarás na Gaeltachta and the Western Development Commission.
