When you look at the above image, what do you see? Name, Number, Dates and Lists…but whose stories live in these archival materials? And how can we discover them?

Kildare County Archives invite creative practitioners to attend an informal, enquiry-based workshop, featuring records from the Athy Workhouse. Explore these documents and uncover hidden human stories in the very place they were made: the historic grounds of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Athy.

This practical workshop will allow you to critically engage with this special archive collection, while connecting with other creatives, local archivists, and historians. Discover ways to access and use archival materials from Kildare or beyond—it may inspire your next creative project!

This workshop is open to creative practitioners from all creative disciplines such as fine art, creative writing, theatre, film, performance, and more.  Space is very limited – Contact Karel Kiely at archives@kildarecoco.ie to reserve your space.
