After a breakup, documentary filmmaker Dean moves into a rental home. There, he discovers Marcel - a tiny, one-inch-tall talking shell who lives with his grandmother Nana Connie. After one of Dean’s video clips of Marcel goes viral online, the little shell becomes an unlikely celebrity. However, Marcel only has one wish - to finally be reunited with the rest of his family and friends.
