The residency will involve engagement with children through schools, centred round their local library. The residency will include the artist outreaching to different schools.  This is not a public initiative and will be hosted in a range of schools. 

THE MAGIC OF LOCAL LORE; for 5th and 6th class students. This particular project is inspired by the 1930s School's Collection.

A series of workshops introducing children to the art of collecting local stories. Giving children the skills to ‘interview’ sources (parents, grandparents, neighbours) to gather local folklore and/or stories from other cultures they are connected to (such as Ukraine and other backgrounds). The children will be shown how to access folklore from their locality using the resources at their local library, including books, newspapers and digital sources such as the Schools’ Collection from the 1930s. Ultimately, an exhibition will be created with the stories gathered & family invited to attend the exhibition launch.
