Eire Sign Restoration Kilmore Community
Rosslare Municipal District and a group of locals will begin work on the restoration and clearing of overgrown vegetation of the Eire coastal marker in Kilmore Quay constructed in 1943/1944.
The team of locals and enthusiasts will expose the stones while at the same time explore the history and story behind the marker. They will discover what a pilot may have seen in the 1940s... as he flew to his destination.
By working together and investigating the past together community spirit is strengthened, old traditions are maintained, and village life improved for both residents and visitors alike.
This project will be instrumental in the rediscovering and the restoration of these important pieces of our coastal heritage and sense of community.
