The Games sector is an emerging sector in Galway with internationally renowned Games Companies (EA, Romero Games) and emerging companies (Spooky Doorway, 9 Impact, Portal Punch) based in the city. Continuing from the pilot project in 2022, this project will focus on discovering, uniting, and supporting emerging games developers to connect and collaborate with support from local professional games developers.

The aim of the initiative is to simultaneously give an opportunity to local talent to learn, connect, collaborate and develop while being mentored by internationally leading local game development talent. It is our ambition that this project will produce games that tell the stories of Galway. The projects developed by the participants, will be based on number of initiatives identified and presented to the participants by community and cultural partners that are working to make Galway a better place to live, work and visit.

Participants will be given the freedom to take these initiatives and identify one which they would like to tackle. The participants will then enter a structured schedule of exploration, development, iteration and meetings with industry veterans to develop their initiatives whilst availing of supports including equipment and desk space.
