Sightless Cinema Network presents: Blind Panic

Sightless Cinema aims to empower people with sight loss as artistic collaborators and creators in the medium of audio theatre. The project has proved an excellent platform for personal development and social inclusion, while also raising awareness of sight loss in the broader community.

Following the great success of Sightless Cinema Navan at the Solstice Art Centre in January, the company will return with a new show. Close your eyes – if you dare! Blind Panic is a mixed programme of short thrillers, hauntings and strange scratching in the cupboard. The immersive surround sound audio plays are a feast for the imagination- because all the pictures are in your head. Optional blindfolds are provided to help bring you into the world of Sightless Cinema.

In its ninth successful year Sightless Cinema is a collaborative arts project for people with sight loss to devise and produce audio theatre, led by director Ciarán Taylor. Groups from South Dublin, Meath and Laois will join forces for the first time in The Sightless Cinema Network to present an all new programme of audio plays. The three groups will collaborate on a joint touring production of recorded and live audio plays, which will tour to Civic Theatre Tallaght, Dunamaise Arts Centre, Portlaoise, and Solstice Arts Centre, Navan in November 2023.
