Sparks Youth Film Festival
The annual Sparks Youth Film Festival will take place again this year in Scariff, County Clare during October mid-term break.
Sparks is a film festival that gives teens and young adults a platform to express their ideas through digital media. The festival begins with a series of workshops which will be delivered to primary and secondary schools in the East Clare region. Children will learn all aspects of film-making from plot development, script-writing, makeup artistry, videography and editing. Through these workshops, children will develop confidence and skills in performance and creative expression through digital media, and produce a short film. The festival culminates in a screening of the short films, produced by the children, at Scariff Library. Entries to the festival have been frequent winners at the Fresh Film Festival, a national youth film festival.
Schools will be invited to participate in the workshops, the screening event in Scariff Library is open to all. This year Sparks will also be reaching out to new primary schools to join the Sparks experience with animation workshops.
The workshops will take place in local schools and the film festival screening will take place in Scariff Library.
