Tá Tionscadal Logainmneacha na Scoileanna eagraithe ag an gCartlannaí; Oifigeach Gaeilge; An Coiste Logainmneacha agus an Oifig Ealaíon ar mhaithe le logainmneacha áitiúla a chur ar a súile do pháistí bunscoile agus deis a thabhairt dóibh taighde a dhéanamh ar ainmneacha áitiúla áiteanna.

Tá sé i gceist againn an tionscadal a chur i bhfeidhm i ndá scoil nua sa bhFómhar, ag iad ag uaslódáil a gcuid saothar ar Suirbhé 123. Tá sé i gceist chomh maith an léarscáil idirghníomhach ar líne, le saothar na scoileanna ar fad a ghlac páirt sa tionscadal ón tús, a sheoladh ar www.deiselogainm.ie mar chuid de chlár imeachtaí Sheachtain Oidhreachta.

The Schools Placenames Project is organised by the Archivist; Oifigeach Gaeilge; Placenames Committee and Arts Office to introduce primary school children to their local placenames and provide them with the opportunity to research local names of places.

We intend to roll out the project to two new schools in the Autumn of 2023, including uploading the work to Survey 123 and to launch the new online map of information gathered to date on www.deiselogainm.ie as part of our Heritage Week events.
