Reading Your Local Landscape
Reading Your Local Landscape is a landscape environmental heritage course that teaches communities to understand the inherent qualities of the environment around us; built and natural.
The aim of the course is to provide the participants with
- A knowledge and understanding of the natural, built and cultural resources of the study area
- The necessary skills to undertake further research and work in the area of local heritage interpretation
- Opportunities to identify landscape resources which could be utilised to enhance your employment opportunities
- Geology and the shape of the local landscape
- Maps
- Biodiversity and habitats
- Archaeology
- Architecture
- Industrial archaeology
- Settlement and communication
- Heritage interpretation
- Project mentoring
There will be a free introductory workshop at Clare Museum on Tuesday 28 February, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. The course will then continue every Tuesday from 7 March to the 27 June at the same time.
