The Charlemont Community (Rooftop) Garden is an initiative the Charlemont Community Resource Centre (CCRC) has been running for over a year where children have been encouraged to grow and tend plants. It began with Sunflowers and some vegetables in 2021 and this continued with a wider range of plants being grown in 2022.

As the idea has taken gathered momentum we want to develop the project with planning and investment to make a vibrant community garden which would be a focal point for people across generations in our community. The potential to expand the garden will enable us to engage more people and see a wider range of planting/sowing/growing/reaping and learning as well as the benefits of cooperation while working as part of a group. Our aim is to create an environment that will give locals a “good head space”.
