PIMA! Fest
A BRAND new festival with a vision to create engaging, inclusive and innovative participatory art projects will take place in Ennis, Co. Clare this October.
PIMA! Fest, (Participate in Music and Arts) is produced by Music Generation Clare and will be held from October 15 to 16.
In times of great challenge, a wave of creative outpouring emerges in society and as participatory arts takes a more significant role in the arts globally, Music Generation Clare sees an opportunity to contribute to the development of this emerging space with the creation of a new annual festival for Ennis and County Clare.
The inaugural festival will engage some of Ireland’s most innovative artists.
Composer Brian Irvine and filmmaker John McIlduff of Dumbworld will collaborate with students from Rice College Ennis on a new ‘Songbook’ composition.
Composer Kerry Hagan and sonic arts researcher Nicholas Ward will create a generative sound installation entitled ‘Sounding Ennis’ composed of audio recordings made by the people of Ennis.
Crooked House Theatre Company will develop a series of intergenerational theatrical vignettes for film featuring members of the public, in association with Clare Age Friendly called ‘Milis’ (sweet).
Bangers and Crash Percussion Sextet invites the public to join them in a practice workshop ahead of their interactive concert.
Sounding Ennis invite local people of Ennis to send in audio recordings to create a community sound project.
