The culture, heritage and history of Loughros Point peninsula and surrounding areas are inextricably linked with the land and sea. This project aims to research and record local minor placenames, their historical, cultural origins and use over time.

Working in partnership with the local community and cultural heritage advisors, the project will produce a book documenting the minor placenames of the area, thus ensuring this
fast-disappearing knowledge is preserved for posterity.
