Fr Jimmy Murray, A Carmelite friar and noted local historian has been carrying his ‘walk and talk’ for many years. It is important that Fr. Jimmy’s work on history and heritage is not allowed to be lost for future generations.

Creating an awareness of our history and heritage is one of our aims and this project dovetails into that, Fr. Jimmy’s ‘walk and talk’ on the towns past is invaluable record to creating a story for the next generation. None of us are getting any younger and Fr. Jimmy (80 +) would be the first to admit that there is ‘a degree’ of urgency in ensuring that the recording is completed.
