My Voice in Our Vista
My Voice in Our Vista is a community arts project that will encourage and nurture a new narrative vocabulary around shared beliefs and shared stories. It is aimed at new Citizens and those who are trying to assimilate into Waterford.
The project will be run by Waterford City’s Arts Office in collaboration with the Waterford Integration office, Culture Quarter Waterford, Creative Ireland Waterford, Waterford Youth Arts and local partners. The chief facilitator is Sinead Bolger.
The project will include;
Meetings and facilitated workshops with Waterford’s new and inter-application Citizens initially from the Waterford Cultural Quarter areas.
A series of vignettes will be devised from stories worked-up with the participators. They in turn will explore a series of narrative formats in which to work. Through the facilitation these stories will become small plays that feed into a larger narrative based on the 7 Virtues.
The pieces will then meld into a single play that will have a professional reading (professional actors and professional director) in front of a live audience (Covid permitting) in December. Following further interaction with the participants and the pros – a playscript will be developed and put out into the public domain (late December 2021).
