Maeve Higgins Creative Non-Fiction Writing Workshops
Cork County Council Library & Arts Service and Creative Ireland are pleased to announce a unique creative non-fiction writing workshop series, beginning 15th March, 2021. The series is aimed at Cork people living abroad & people from abroad living in Cork.
Maeve Higgins, contributing opinion writer with The New York Times and author of three essay collections, will facilitate the six-week course. Speaking about this series, Maeve stated “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to connect with other Irish writers of all levels. Creative non-fiction has been a wonderful path through curiosity to self-expression for me.”
Maeve will facilitate workshops on: memoir, the personal essay, literary journalism and cultural commentary. With participants coming from the diasporic community, themes such as migration, home and belonging will be explored in a creative, collaborative and engaging way – with a large smattering of fun in the mix too!
Participants: The workshop will be made up of ten participants living in Ireland and abroad.
