Ignite the Spark, curated by Catherine Sheridan, is a multi-generational project for schools, nursing homes and health centres in Roscommon, using a variety of creative tools, activities, technology,  and stimuli. The project aims to connect people through the Arts.

School children and elderly people in nursing homes and accessing day care services in the county will be paired and supplied with all necessary resources to spark ideas and responses to creativity including stories and music. The curator and the artists, together with Activity Coordinators and Teachers/Youth Leaders will create the catalysts to form initial intergenerational links and discussions.

This project responds to Roscommon County Council’s action in the Culture and Creativity Strategy 2018-2022 to “Ensure that older people in the community and in care settings are supported to creatively preserve, develop and enhance their life’s experiences through the arts, through cultural initiatives and through the engagement with the built and natural heritage”.
