Because of the unusual situation presented by the Covid-19 pandemic Opera Workshop, like so many arts companies is struggling to maintain momentum. As they cannot perform live work, they cannot engage directly with audiences and were struggling to maintain contact and engagement with artists.

This CPD opportunity for members of the Opera Workshop ensemble will offer learning and networking opportunities to emerging and established singers and musicians through masterclass and workshop initiatives.

Through the Creative Ireland Made in Limerick Grant, Opera Workshop will deliver an online profile through the filming of opera scenes for release via social media and to develop online workshops thereby continuing to realise their aims and to encourage the creative spark among the Mid West singers and musicians and to maintain and develop our network internationally.

They have created a strong following and are transferring their energies in to an equally vibrant online presence. This creates a number of challenges, not least in understanding the technology available and how best to utilise it.

The Creative Ireland award is giving them the opportunity to examine the possibilities and to ensure we make the most of  technology and online forums available.
