Kilkenny Stimulus Project
This project aims to identify supports required by the cultural and creative sectors in Co. Kilkenny to deal with and respond to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This phase will consist of an in-depth survey of a small representative sample of the cultural and creative sector in Co. Kilkenny and will include four organisations in this phase.
This survey will identify the capacity building and engagement needs of heritage communities, and also the needs of the Arts sector to enable them to continue to create work and engage with communities. It is proposed that the results of the survey will identify areas of development and the needs across the local creative and culture sector, and inform measures and supports to the sector in 2021. It is also planned, subject to Covid restrictions, to deliver a limited number of immediate support actions with designated groups in 2020.
In Phase 1 the facilitators identified some supports for the 4 arts/heritage groups/venues i.e. Catalyst Arts, Eigse Slieverue, Medieval Mile Museum and Clogh Writers Group.
1. Zoom Training and Writing Workshops for Clogh Writers.
2. Professional script writer & voice actor to develop script for a new self guided app of the city in the voices of the 3 people whose bodies were found at St. Mary's during excavations.
3. Catalyst Arts member residency to partake in a period of research linking in with art groups in Co Kilkenny during Nov/Dec 2020.
